Your Indian startup just closed Series A. The EU market is in the expansion plan. Your investor is asking about regulatory risk. Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 applies to your product from day one of EU market entry. Article 3(1) makes you the manufacturer. CRACheck generates the Annex VII documentation that demonstrates regulatory readiness. 15 minutes. €149. Show the board you have it covered.

Post-Series A, the board expects execution on the EU expansion plan. The first question from the lead investor is not about sales pipelines — it is about regulatory risk. European regulations that can block market access or create financial liability. Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 is the newest one. Article 64 penalties of up to €15 million or 2.5% of worldwide annual turnover. Article 2(1) applies from the moment you place your product on the EU market. The investor does not need a 50-page regulatory readiness report. They need to see that you have assessed the CRA and produced the documentation. CRACheck generates 8 PDF documents under Art. 31 + Annex VII in 15–25 minutes. €149. 100% browser-side. Board-ready artefact.

How it works

1
Assess CRA applicability
Does your product have a data connection and will it be available on the EU market? If yes to both, Article 2(1) applies. Use the free CRACheck classifier.
2
Classify the product
Default (90%), Important Class I, or Class II. Classification determines the conformity assessment path and whether a notified body is needed.
3
Complete CRACheck
15 minutes. CTO answers engineering questions about the product.
4
Download the 8-PDF dossier
Structured Annex VII documentation.
5
Present to the board
Include the CRACheck dossier in the EU expansion regulatory risk section. The board sees structured evidence, not a promise to "look into it."
6
Integrate into EU go-to-market
As you onboard EU customers, the Annex VII dossier is ready for procurement processes. No delay between market entry and compliance documentation.

Three mistakes to avoid

COMMON MISTAKE

"We will handle regulatory compliance after we achieve product-market fit in the EU"

Article 2(1) of Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 applies from the moment you make your product available on the EU market. Article 13(12) requires technical documentation before market placement. There is no "product-market fit first, compliance later" path. The documentation must exist before the first EU customer.

COMMON MISTAKE

"The CRA fine risk is theoretical — no one will enforce against a startup"

Article 64(5)(c) of Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 requires authorities to consider the "size, in particular with regard to microenterprises and small and medium sized-enterprises, including start-ups." The fine may be adjusted for startup size — but the obligation exists regardless. And the reputational damage of non-compliance in front of EU enterprise clients matters more than the fine.

COMMON MISTAKE

"We will hire a European compliance firm during Series B"

A European compliance firm charges €15,000–€25,000 for a regulatory readiness assessment. At Series A, that is 3–5% of the round. CRACheck costs €149 — and produces the actual Annex VII documentation, not just a readiness report. The Series B budget can go to market expansion instead of regulatory assessment.

Frequently asked questions

Does the CRA apply from day one of EU market entry?
Yes. Article 13(12) of Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 requires manufacturers to draw up technical documentation before placing a product on the market. The documentation must exist before your first EU customer. There is no grace period for new market entrants.
How do I present CRA compliance to my board?
Present three things: (1) CRA applies to your product from EU market entry (Art. 2(1)), (2) penalties are up to €15M or 2.5% of worldwide turnover (Art. 64(2)), (3) you have produced the Annex VII documentation (show the 8-PDF dossier). Cost: €149. Time: 15 minutes. Risk: mitigated.
Will EU investors care about CRA compliance during due diligence?
EU-focused VCs and strategic investors are adding CRA compliance to their due diligence checklists. A startup that cannot demonstrate CRA readiness for its EU expansion plan signals regulatory risk — which affects valuation and deal terms.
Is CRACheck enough for full EU regulatory compliance?
CRACheck addresses Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 — the Cyber Resilience Act. EU market entry may also involve GDPR, the AI Act (if applicable), product-specific regulations, and potentially NIS2 (if applicable). CRACheck covers the CRA. Other regulations require separate compliance efforts.
Is it a subscription?
No. One-time payment. 30 days editing, 10 regenerations.
Can I request a refund?
Art. 16(m) Directive (EU) 2011/83. Activation = express consent. Refunds only for reproducible technical failures.
What if the regulation changes?
Regenerate at no additional cost during your licence period.
