Category 4 has four subcategories. (a) Recruitment and candidate screening. (b) Decisions affecting terms, conditions, promotion, termination. (c) Performance monitoring and evaluation. (d) Task allocation based on behaviour or traits. If your system touches any of these, Article 11 requires Annex IV documentation. AICheck covers all four subcategories. Category 4 covers all AI systems in the employment domain. Four subcategories, one documentation structure, one tool.
You enter your system data. AICheck structures the documentation per all nine Annex IV points.
The Annex IV documentation structure is the same for all four subcategories. Nine points. Same articles. The content differs (training data for a performance evaluation system vs a recruitment system), but the structure is identical. AICheck adapts the content prompts to your subcategory.
Article 6.5 allows the Commission to add criteria, not to narrow existing categories. Annex III.4(a–d) is in the base Regulation and can only be amended by co-decision. As of April 2026, no narrowing proposal exists.
Article 2.1(a) applies to providers placing AI systems on the EU market regardless of where the provider is established. If your employment AI system is used by any EU-based client, it is placed on the EU market. Third-country status does not exempt you.
