Refund policy
Refund and return conditions for SolidwareTools products, in accordance with Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007 and Directive 2011/83/EU.
1. Nature of the product and exception to the right of withdrawal
All products in the SolidwareTools catalogue are digital content delivered through download of the PDF generated in your browser. In accordance with Article 16.m of Directive (EU) 2011/83 on consumer rights (transposed into Spanish law by Article 103.m of Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007), the right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content whose execution has begun with the buyer's express consent. The generation of the PDF constitutes the act of delivery of the product, regardless of which SolidwareTools product is used.
2. Refund for technical failure
If the software fails (error in the generator, PDF that does not download, reproducible bug), we provide a full refund by submitting a screenshot of the error to hello@solidwaretools.com within 14 days of purchase.
Refund for technical failure covers the following cases:
- The generator does not load correctly in updated browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge in their recent versions).
- The license key is not accepted or cannot be activated despite having been delivered by Gumroad.
- The PDF is not generated or is generated with incorrect data due to a reproducible software error.
- The PDF is downloaded corrupted or unreadable.
- Any other verifiable technical failure attributable to the software.
Refund procedure for technical failure:
- Send an email to hello@solidwaretools.com with the subject "Refund for technical failure".
- Include the Gumroad order number or the email address used for the purchase.
- Attach screenshots of the error or describe the steps to reproduce it.
- The SolidwareTools team will verify the failure within a maximum of 5 working days.
- Once the failure is confirmed, the refund will be processed through Gumroad and may take 5 to 10 working days to appear on the original payment method.
Alternative to refund — free regeneration: in case of a verifiable technical failure, the buyer may choose between a full refund or unlimited free regeneration of the document during an extended period of 30 additional days, whichever they prefer. Many buyers prefer this option because they want their document, not their money back.
3. Post-purchase regulatory change
If the applicable regulation (European regulation or national transposition) undergoes a substantive modification within 30 days of purchase, the buyer is entitled to free regeneration of the document under the updated framework, at no additional cost. This applies only to changes in the official text of the regulation, not to interpretive guidance or case law.
Substantive modifications detected by SolidwareTools are published at solidwaretools.com/cambios-normativos.
4. No refund for change of mind
Refunds for change of mind are not accepted once the license has been activated and the PDF has been generated, in accordance with Art. 16.m of Directive 2011/83/EU and Article 103.m of Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007 cited above.
This exception applies specifically because:
- SolidwareTools products are digital content not supplied on a physical medium.
- Their execution begins with the express consent of the buyer when activating the license.
- The buyer knows and accepts, before activation, that they lose the right of withdrawal upon starting execution.
5. How to avoid having to request a refund
Before purchasing any SolidwareTools product, we recommend:
- Take the free applicability test available on each product page, which tells you whether your situation is covered by the corresponding regulation and whether the product is the right tool for your case. If it is not, we tell you before you pay.
- Read the frequently asked questions of the corresponding product.
- If you have a specific question about whether the product fits your situation, write first to hello@solidwaretools.com.
6. Limitation of liability
SolidwareTools does not accept liability for indirect damages arising from the use of the generated document, including (without limitation) administrative sanctions, loss of business opportunities, rejection of documentation by authorities, or any other loss arising from inaccurate declarations by the signer or from the presentation of the document to third parties. The maximum liability of SolidwareTools, in any case and for any cause, is limited to the amount paid for the corresponding product.
SolidwareTools generates structured documentation based on the official text of the cited regulation as in force on the date of generation. It does not interpret case law from the CJEU, national courts or competent authorities, nor does it assess the applicability of the regulation to the user's specific situation. The interpretation and application to the user's particular case is the sole responsibility of the signer or their legal advisor.
7. Complaints
If the buyer disagrees with a refund decision, they can:
- Request a review of the case by sending an email to hello@solidwaretools.com with the subject "Complaint".
- Use the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
- File a complaint with the competent consumer protection authority of their place of residence.
