You have FCC certification, UL listing, maybe ETL. You planned EU expansion — a market of 450 million consumers. Then your compliance team discovers Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/30: cybersecurity documentation under Art. 3(3)(d), (e) and (f) of Directive 2014/53/EU. No US certification maps to it. Your EU distributor requires it. Amazon EU requires it. No documentation, no market entry. A European consultant quotes $15,000–$25,000 and 4–6 months. REDCheck generates the 5 PDF documents in 30 minutes. €99 per product model. The barrier disappears.

CE marking is a self-declaration of conformity with ALL applicable EU Directives — not just radio emissions. For radio equipment, it covers electrical safety, EMC, radio spectrum AND cybersecurity since Delegated Reg. 2022/30. FCC covers only radio emissions. They are not equivalents.
Art. 10(1) of Directive 2014/53/EU: manufacturers shall ensure compliance WHEN PLACING on the market. You cannot legally place non-compliant equipment on the EU market to test demand. The first unit sold is the first violation.
A distributor (Art. 13) makes the product available after it has been placed on the market. The distributor verifies documentation exists — they do not produce it. If you are the manufacturer (Art. 10), the documentation obligation is yours.
