Three documentation mistakes

COMMON MISTAKE

"I'll document when the authority asks"

Article 11 requires you to draw up AND keep up to date the technical documentation BEFORE placing the system on the market or putting it into service. It is not a reactive obligation. If an authority asks and you do not have it, you are already non-compliant.

COMMON MISTAKE

"The documentation is just a formality — any format works"

Annex IV prescribes a specific nine-point structure. Market surveillance authorities will check for structural completeness. A free-form Word document titled "Technical Documentation" does not satisfy Art. 11 if it does not cover all nine points in the prescribed order.

COMMON MISTAKE

"Our data science team can write the documentation"

They can provide the technical inputs. But Annex IV also requires legal declarations (Declaration of Conformity, Art. 47), deployer instructions (Art. 13), risk management documentation (Art. 9), and incident reporting templates (Art. 73). These cross legal, operational, and technical domains. AICheck structures all twelve documents from a single input session.

What AICheck guarantees and what it does not

AICheck generates a document structured under Article 11 and Annex IV of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 based on the information you enter. The truthfulness, accuracy and completeness of that information is your responsibility as provider of the AI system.

We guarantee that the document structure follows Article 11 and Annex IV of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 and that the legal references cited are correct as of the latest verification date. We do not guarantee that a specific document will be accepted by a market surveillance authority in a specific case, nor by a commercial buyer in a procurement process.

Frequently asked questions — Credit scoring Annex III documentation

What if my scoring model changes after I generate the documentation?
Article 11.1 requires the documentation to be kept up to date. AICheck includes 10 regenerations within 30 days. If your model changes significantly after the licence window, you purchase a new licence and regenerate with updated data.
Does Annex IV technical documentation need to be in a specific language?
The Regulation does not prescribe a language. However, Article 13.3 requires deployer instructions in a language easily understood by the deployer. Market surveillance authorities may request documentation in their official language. AICheck generates documentation in the language you select (English or Spanish).
Is credit scoring under PSD2/PSD3 affected differently?
PSD2/PSD3 regulate payment services. The AI Act applies independently to the AI system used for credit scoring. If your scoring system processes payment data under PSD2 and evaluates creditworthiness, both regulatory frameworks apply simultaneously. Annex IV documentation is an AI Act obligation regardless of PSD2/PSD3 status.
Is this a subscription?
No. One-time payment. The licence includes 30 days of editing and 10 regenerations. The downloaded PDF is yours to keep.
Can I request a refund?
Under Article 16.m of Directive (EU) 2011/83 on consumer rights, by activating the licence you give express consent for the immediate generation of the digital content and waive the 14-day withdrawal period. Refunds are accepted only for verifiable reproducible technical failures.
What if the regulation changes?
If the regulation changes during the validity of your licence, you may regenerate the document with the updated version of the generator at no additional cost.
⚠️ Important notice: AICheck is a self-assessment documentation tool, not legal advice and not a third-party audit. The document under Article 11 and Annex IV of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 is generated from your input data. You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you provide.
