You’re selling WiFi or Bluetooth products from the US into the EU. Here is the exact list of cybersecurity documents you need under Directive 2014/53/EU — and why your FCC paperwork doesn’t count.

You have a product. It uses WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee or any radio technology. You want to sell it in the EU. From 1 August 2025, Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/30 requires cybersecurity technical documentation under Art. 21 and Annex V. Five specific documents. If you place the product under your brand, you are the manufacturer under Art. 10 — even if you buy from a factory in China. Art. 14 is explicit. A European consultancy quotes $8,000–$20,000. REDCheck generates the 5 documents in 30 minutes. €99 per product (~$108). 100% in your browser.

Documents needed for EU cybersecurity compliance: the numbers

Directive 2014/53/EU requires manufacturers to draw up technical documentation BEFORE placing radio equipment on the EU market (Art. 10(3)). From 1 August 2025, cybersecurity is part of that documentation.

Three document mistakes US sellers make about EU market access

COMMON MISTAKE

"I buy from China and sell under my brand — the factory handles compliance"

Art. 14 deems you the manufacturer. You assume all obligations of Art. 10, including drawing up technical documentation. Your Chinese supplier is not responsible.

COMMON MISTAKE

"I already have a CE declaration of conformity"

Check what your declaration covers. If it only lists Art. 3(1)(a) and Art. 3(1)(b), it does NOT cover Arts. 3(3)(d) and (e). A SEPARATE assessment and updated declaration are required.

COMMON MISTAKE

"I only need this if I sell directly — my distributor handles it"

Art. 10(3) places the obligation on the manufacturer, not the distributor. The distributor (Art. 13) verifies that YOU have done this.
