Peru is an important source of high-value Amazonian timber for the European market, particularly shihuahuaco (Dipteryx micrantha) and cumaru (Dipteryx odorata) — prized as tropical decking wood — as well as tornillo (Cedrelinga cateniformis) and cedro (Cedrela odorata) for construction and interior woodwork. Timber concessions are concentrated in Ucayali, Loreto, Madre de Dios, San Martín and Junín, managed under Peru's Ley 29763 and supervised by OSINFOR and SERFOR. The EU is a key market for Peruvian premium timber. Peru is classified as low-risk, which simplifies due diligence — no formal risk assessment under Article 10 is required. But the DDS itself, with geolocation of harvesting compartments, full traceability, and compliance with the deforestation prohibition, remains mandatory. Peru's forestry system (SERFOR/OSINFOR + POA with parcelas de corta) already contains the geolocation data the EUDR needs. EUDRCheck converts it into a valid Annex II dossier. 8 documents. 15 minutes. €199.

Peru's Amazon basin contains some of the world's most valuable tropical hardwoods. Shihuahuaco and cumaru are the premium decking species that European construction buyers seek. Tornillo and cedro serve structural and interior applications. Concessions in Ucayali, Loreto and Madre de Dios supply the bulk of exports.
Peru is low-risk under the Commission's May 2025 benchmarking. Simplified due diligence: no formal Article 10 risk assessment. But the DDS with geolocation remains mandatory.
Peru's forestry system (SERFOR, OSINFOR, POA with parcelas de corta) already contains the geolocation data the EUDR requires — an advantage for Peruvian concession holders.
Under Article 4 and Annex II, the data fields are defined by law.
EUDRCheck generates the complete dossier in 15 minutes.
The DDS requires geolocation of the forest compartment where the trees were felled. POA documents contain parcela de corta coordinates. Sawmill coordinates are not valid.
OSINFOR audits verify compliance with Peruvian forestry law. This is evidence of legality, not a DDS under Annex II. The DDS is a separate document.
Cedro is CITES Appendix II. A valid CITES permit is required for trade but does not replace the EUDR DDS. Both documents are needed.
EUDRCheck does not generate a single PDF. It generates a complete dossier of eight structured documents, delivered as a ZIP file you download and keep. Every document cites the specific EUDR article it complies with.

Under Article 25, penalties apply.

Article 25.2(d) — temporary exclusion from tendering procedures, grants and concessions for a maximum of 12 months.
Article 25.2(e) — prohibition on placing relevant products on the EU market until full compliance is demonstrated. Applies to the European buyer, who will pass the consequence upstream to the non-compliant supplier.
