Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 · VerifiedGenerate the DDS — €199

Your European Buyer Wants the EUDR Dossier for the Next Shipment of Peruvian Shihuahuaco Decking. Your Concession in Ucayali Has an Approved POA and OSINFOR Supervision, but TRACES NT Needs Geolocation Data in GeoJSON Format. Here's How to Generate the Full Dossier in 15 Minutes.

Peru is an important source of high-value Amazonian timber for the European market, particularly shihuahuaco (Dipteryx micrantha) and cumaru (Dipteryx odorata) — prized as tropical decking wood — as well as tornillo (Cedrelinga cateniformis) and cedro (Cedrela odorata) for construction and interior woodwork. Timber concessions are concentrated in Ucayali, Loreto, Madre de Dios, San Martín and Junín, managed under Peru's Ley 29763 and supervised by OSINFOR and SERFOR. The EU is a key market for Peruvian premium timber. Peru is classified as low-risk, which simplifies due diligence — no formal risk assessment under Article 10 is required. But the DDS itself, with geolocation of harvesting compartments, full traceability, and compliance with the deforestation prohibition, remains mandatory. Peru's forestry system (SERFOR/OSINFOR + POA with parcelas de corta) already contains the geolocation data the EUDR needs. EUDRCheck converts it into a valid Annex II dossier. 8 documents. 15 minutes. €199.

The numbers that matter for Peruvian timber exports to the EU

Peru's Amazon basin contains some of the world's most valuable tropical hardwoods. Shihuahuaco and cumaru are the premium decking species that European construction buyers seek. Tornillo and cedro serve structural and interior applications. Concessions in Ucayali, Loreto and Madre de Dios supply the bulk of exports.

Peru is low-risk under the Commission's May 2025 benchmarking. Simplified due diligence: no formal Article 10 risk assessment. But the DDS with geolocation remains mandatory.

Peru's forestry system (SERFOR, OSINFOR, POA with parcelas de corta) already contains the geolocation data the EUDR requires — an advantage for Peruvian concession holders.

What the EUDR requires for each shipment of Peruvian timber

Under Article 4 and Annex II, the data fields are defined by law.

1
Commodity description
HS 4407 (sawn timber), HS 4409 (profiled wood). Species: shihuahuaco (Dipteryx micrantha), cumaru (Dipteryx odorata), tornillo (Cedrelinga cateniformis), cedro (Cedrela odorata — CITES Appendix II). Annex II point 2.
2
Country of production
Peru — region + province (Ucayali–Padre Abad, Loreto–Requena, Madre de Dios–Tambopata, San Martín–Tocache). Annex II point 3.
3
Geolocation of harvesting compartment
POA parcela de corta coordinates. 6 decimals, WGS-84, GeoJSON. Annex II point 4 + Article 2(28).
4
Traceability
Concession holder, sawmill, exporter, EU importer. Annex II point 5.
5
Legal compliance

The three most common EUDR mistakes Peruvian timber exporters make

Pattern 1 — Wrong geolocation

Sawmill GPS in Pucallpa submitted instead of POA parcela de corta in the concession

The DDS requires geolocation of the forest compartment where the trees were felled. POA documents contain parcela de corta coordinates. Sawmill coordinates are not valid.

Pattern 2 — OSINFOR ≠ DDS

OSINFOR supervision reports presented as EUDR compliance

OSINFOR audits verify compliance with Peruvian forestry law. This is evidence of legality, not a DDS under Annex II. The DDS is a separate document.

Pattern 3 — CITES ≠ EUDR

CITES export permit for cedro (Cedrela odorata) presented instead of the DDS

Cedro is CITES Appendix II. A valid CITES permit is required for trade but does not replace the EUDR DDS. Both documents are needed.

What EUDRCheck guarantees and what it doesn't

EUDRCheck generates a document structured under Article 4 and Annex II of Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 (as amended by Regulation (EU) 2025/2650) based on the information you enter. The truthfulness, accuracy and completeness of that information is your responsibility as operator or supplier of the consignment.

We guarantee that the document structure follows Article 4 and Annex II of Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 and that the legal references cited are correct as of the latest verification date. We do not guarantee that a specific document will be accepted by a market surveillance authority in a specific case, nor by a commercial buyer in a procurement process.

Frequently asked questions — Peruvian timber exporters

Peru is low risk. Does that mean no DDS?
No. Low-risk simplifies the procedure — no formal Article 10 risk assessment required — but the DDS with full geolocation, traceability, and prohibition compliance remains mandatory.
My concession has an approved POA supervised by OSINFOR. Are the coordinates in the POA?
Yes. The POA contains the annual harvesting compartment (parcela de corta) with geographic coordinates. This is exactly the data the EUDR requires — converted into GeoJSON format.
We have an FSC concession in Ucayali. Does FSC replace the DDS?
No. FSC is complementary evidence under Article 10.2(m). The DDS must still be filed separately.
OSINFOR already audits our concession. Isn't that enough?
OSINFOR verifies compliance with Peruvian forestry law. This is evidence of legality, not a DDS. The DDS is a separate document filed in TRACES NT by the EU operator.
Privacy?
Browser-side.
Legal advice?
No.
