You Manufacture Interactive Display Terminals for the European Market. The BFSG Requires Accessible Software from Day One on New Deployments. Here's the Report — 15 Minutes.

You manufacture interactive display terminals — touchscreen kiosks, digital signage with interactive layers, wayfinding displays, information points, retail configurators, queue management screens. Your clients deploy them across Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the Benelux. Article 2.1(b) of Directive 2019/882 lists self-service terminals as in-scope products. In Germany, the BFSG allows terminals installed before 28 June 2025 to remain until end of life — but any NEW terminal deployed after that date must comply from day one. EAA-Report generates the WCAG 2.1 AA self-assessment of your terminal's software interface in 15 minutes. €149. Hardware layer requires separate assessment.

Directive (EU) 2019/882 Art. 2.1(b) self-service terminals BFSG Germany EN 301 549 V3.2.1 WCAG 2.1 Level AA
⚠️ Hardware vs software scope

This report covers your terminal's software interface: screen UI, touch interaction, navigation flow, text contrast, content structure, assistive technology compatibility. The physical hardware requirements of Annex I Section I of Directive 2019/882 require a separate hardware accessibility assessment that EAA-Report does not provide.

The BFSG timeline your German clients are working against

Germany's BFSG creates a clear timeline. Terminals installed before 28 June 2025 may remain in use until end of economic useful life, but no later than 15 years from installation (effectively 2040). Any new terminal deployed after 28 June 2025 must meet accessibility requirements from day one. Every new deployment your German client makes NOW requires accessible software.

Three mistakes terminal manufacturers make

WE ONLY MAKE HARDWARE

"We only make the hardware, the client installs the software"

If you ship the terminal with software preinstalled, you are the manufacturer of the complete product. The documentation obligation starts with you.

TESTING ONLY DEMO MODE

Demo mode passes but production mode fails

The assessment must cover the software that the end user operates, not the simplified demo.

WAITING FOR THE FIRST REJECTION

Waiting for a compliance rejection to act

By the time your European client rejects a shipment for missing documentation, you have already manufactured and shipped. The report costs €149 and takes 15 minutes.

EAA-Report generates a document structured under Art. 13.2 of Directive (EU) 2019/882 based on the information you enter. The truthfulness, accuracy and completeness of that information is your responsibility as the service provider or software vendor.

We guarantee that the document structure follows Art. 13.2 of Directive (EU) 2019/882 and that the legal references cited are correct as of the latest verification date. We do not guarantee that a specific document will be accepted by a market surveillance authority in a specific case, nor by a commercial buyer in a procurement process.

FAQ — Interactive display manufacturers

Does this report cover the hardware?
No. Software interface only. Annex I Section I hardware requirements need separate assessment.
My client is in Germany. Does this satisfy the BFSG?
The BFSG references EN 301 549 V3.2.1 and WCAG 2.1 AA. This report evaluates against those exact criteria.
Do existing terminals need immediate updating?
No. BFSG allows pre-June 2025 terminals to remain until end of life (max 15 years). But any NEW terminal must comply from day one.
Can I use one report for all deployments with the same software?
If all use the identical software build and UI, one assessment covers the platform. Custom versions should be assessed separately.
How long does it take?
About 15 minutes. 17 criteria, structured answers, PDF in your browser.
Is this a certified audit?
No. Structured self-assessment. Not legal advice, not a third-party audit.

⚠️ Important notice: EAA-Report is a self-assessment documentation tool, not legal advice and not a third-party audit. The document is generated from your input data. You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you provide. EAA-Report does not replace a qualified professional assessment.
