This report covers your terminal's software interface: screen UI, touch interaction, navigation flow, text contrast, content structure, assistive technology compatibility. The physical hardware requirements of Annex I Section I of Directive 2019/882 require a separate hardware accessibility assessment that EAA-Report does not provide.
The BFSG timeline your German clients are working against
Germany's BFSG creates a clear timeline. Terminals installed before 28 June 2025 may remain in use until end of economic useful life, but no later than 15 years from installation (effectively 2040). Any new terminal deployed after 28 June 2025 must meet accessibility requirements from day one. Every new deployment your German client makes NOW requires accessible software.

What it costs
Three mistakes terminal manufacturers make
"We only make the hardware, the client installs the software"
If you ship the terminal with software preinstalled, you are the manufacturer of the complete product. The documentation obligation starts with you.
Demo mode passes but production mode fails
The assessment must cover the software that the end user operates, not the simplified demo.
Waiting for a compliance rejection to act
By the time your European client rejects a shipment for missing documentation, you have already manufactured and shipped. The report costs €149 and takes 15 minutes.
Enforcement
BFSG. Per-infringement fines.
Law 11/2023.
Ordonnance 2023-859.
Implementatiewet. Up to 10% of turnover.
